It’s easy to take a picture of a bird flying by a telephone pole.<\/p>\n

But it’s a bit hard to take just<\/em> a picture of a bird flying by a telephone pole—at least for me.<\/p>\n

Other stuff keeps getting into the frame. And\u00a0then I’m looking<\/em> at that other stuff. And then\u00a0my eyes are really <\/em>opening—and\u00a0I can’t stop looking\u00a0for<\/em> and at<\/em>\u00a0as much stuff as\u00a0I can.<\/p>\n

And before\u00a0I know it, a wet and gray\u00a0winter day becomes . . .<\/p>\n

. . . the day\u00a0I notice the plums are in bud.<\/p>\n

Look! The first one’s just bust wide open!<\/p>\n

Waaaaah! Here come the plums! Go ahead, let yourself smile!<\/p>\n

I heard a young boy say once—a young boy frustrated in love—<\/p>\n

I wasn’t ready to think about spring<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

But the plum trees bloomed anyway.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

Ready or not here they come.<\/p>\n
